Career Start

Career Start is a government subsidy designed to support eligible individuals to complete their first post-school Certificate III qualification.

Katrinas School of Hair and Beauty is pre-approved as a Skills Assure Supplier to deliver training and assessment services under the Career Start subsidy.

The following courses are provided under Career Start: The following courses are provided under the Certificate 3 Guarantee:

Certificate III in Nail Technology
Certificate III in Beauty Services
Certificate II in Salon Assistant (VETis only)

Does the student need to contribute to the cost of training?

Yes, a co-contribution fee is required to be paid to Katrinas School of Hair and Beauty. This co contribution fee can be paid by the student, employer or another third party.

What is eligibility criteria for Career Start

All students enrolling in a course using the Career Start must:

Must be aged 15 years or older
Have completed or left secondary school
be an Australian citizen or permanent resident residing in Queensland, or New Zealand citizen permanently residing in Queensland
not be enrolled in another qualification (not including foundations skills training)
not already have a certificate III or higher qualification completed within the last 10 years (excluding qualifications completed as a school student and foundation skills qualifications)
