The Certificate III in Hairdressing is 40 weeks of full-time, hands-on training that takes you from passionate beginner to qualified professional, with a nationally recognised trade qualification at the end.
No commitment. Come and see it for yourself before you decide.
Maybe you've always had a talent for it, cutting, colouring, styling friends and family and knowing you could do this professionally. Maybe you're at a point where you're ready to stop wondering and actually commit to the training.
The Certificate III in Hairdressing is a full trade qualification. Not a taster course. Not a short program. It's 40 weeks, four days a week on campus in Morayfield, on real clients, using professional products, trained by experienced industry professionals.
Hairdressing is a skilled trade, one of the few careers where a single qualification opens the door to working anywhere in the world, running your own business, or building a clientele that follows you for life.
This is the qualification that makes you a hairdresser, not just someone who's good with scissors.
A trade credential. Real client hours. Industry-ready from day one.
Forty weeks from now, you'll have a trade qualification that's recognised across Australia and in demand internationally. You'll know how to cut every structure, one-length, graduated, layered, classic men's, and how to colour and lighten with confidence across the full range of techniques.
You'll understand hair and scalp science, not just technique. You'll know how to consult a client, read their hair, adapt your approach, and deliver results that build a loyal following. You'll have trained on real clients in our fully operational student hair clinic, so by the time you graduate, you're not starting from scratch.
Hairdressing is also a trade with genuine career flexibility. Salons, hotels, resorts, cruise ships, editorial work, your own chair, the Certificate III is the foundation for all of it.

Certificate III in Hairdressing SHB30416 · Nationally Recognised Training. Katrinas School of Hair and Beauty RTO# 31218.
Katrinas was founded by Katrina Gilligan, a multi-award-winning beauty and hair professional, APPA Salon of the Year winner, and owner of the Katrinas Skin Works salon chain. She employs over 100 hair and beauty professionals and built this school because she understood what the industry actually needs from its graduates, and what most training programs miss.
The Morayfield campus is purpose-built, approximately 500 square metres, fully air-conditioned, with a fully equipped hair clinic featuring NAK Colour products and full technical support. You're not training in a converted room. You're training in a space built specifically for professional hairdressing education.
The student hair clinic is open to the public, which means your practical hours are real client appointments supervised by qualified trainers. Not practice runs on head blocks, actual clients, actual standards, actual preparation for the job.
Katrinas graduates are known in the industry. Many find employment before they even finish the course.
Real people who turned a passion for hair into a trade qualification, and a qualification into a career.
"I came in not knowing anything beyond what I'd done on friends. By the end of the 40 weeks I was confident cutting, colouring, and handling a full client list. The real client hours made the biggest difference, I wasn't nervous when I started my first job because I'd already done it."
"The trainers at Katrinas genuinely care about where you end up. They're not just ticking boxes, they're making sure you're actually ready to work. I had a job offer before I finished. That doesn't happen by accident."
"I looked at a few different schools and Katrinas stood out immediately, the facilities, the products, the people. 40 weeks went fast. I came out the other end with a qualification, a full book of clients I'd built during the course, and a clear idea of exactly what I wanted to do next."
