You've probably been in beauty for a while. As a client, as someone who's done a short course, or as someone working in a role that doesn't quite fit. You know this is where you want to be. What you don't have yet is a nationally recognised qualification that makes employers take you seriously.
The Diploma of Beauty Therapy changes that. It's the qualification most senior salon employers look for, and Katrinas delivers it with 40 weeks of hands-on training, real client hours, and a campus built specifically for this work.
This isn't an intro course. It's the full picture: advanced skin and facial therapies, microdermabrasion, electrolysis, body massage, waxing, lash and brow, makeup artistry, manicures and pedicures, and the business knowledge to manage a salon. You'll study skin structure and body anatomy so you understand why treatments work, not just how to perform them.
If you're looking for a certificate you can frame on a wall, this isn't for you. If you're looking for something that actually reshapes what your next ten years look like, this is it.
What actually changes.
Before this course, you're someone who wants to work in beauty. After it, you're someone who does, with the skills, credentials, and confidence to back it up.
You'll leave knowing how to read a client's skin. How to build a treatment plan. How to handle a full appointment book and still deliver work that gets people coming back. You'll understand the body, the products, and the business side of running a salon or clinic.
More practically: you'll graduate with clinical hours behind you, having treated real paying clients in our student salon. That's not something most courses give you. At Katrinas, it's built into the curriculum from the start.

Three days a week on campus in Morayfield, plus study time at home. Assessed through written assignments, quizzes, and practical treatments.
Advanced Skin and Facial Therapies
Skin structure and function, skin analysis, facial treatments, skin care recommendations, and specialised facial therapies using advanced science-backed skincare ranges.
Microdermabrasion and Electrolysis
Advanced skin treatment units, microdermabrasion, diathermy, and hair reduction using electrical currents. Among the highest-value services in modern clinics.
Body Massage
Full body massage techniques, Swedish, relaxation, and Indian head massage, delivered to clinical standard using Organic Spa products.
Waxing and Hair Removal
Full-body waxing services delivered to professional clinical standard. Face and body, with a thorough grounding in contraindications and technique.
Lash and Brow Services
Tinting, shaping, and lash enhancements. The services clients book again and again, and one of the most consistent revenue streams for any therapist.
Makeup Design and Artistry
Application, design, colour correction, and artistry using Saint Minerals, from everyday appointments to photography and special occasion work.
Nail Services
Manicures, pedicures, and nail care, delivered to the same professional standard as every other treatment in the clinic.
Skin and Body Science
The anatomy of skin, the musculoskeletal system, and body structures. The clinical knowledge that makes a great therapist, not just a capable one.
Salon Business and Retail
Client consultation, salon financial transactions, retail sales, nutritional advice in a beauty context, and the business skills to eventually lead or own a clinic.
Real Client Hours
Supervised appointments on real clients in our fully operational student clinic, open to the public. These are actual paid appointments. The experience you can't replicate in a classroom.

Where you train matters as much as what you study.
Katrinas was built by Katrina Gilligan, a multi-award-winning beauty therapist, APPA Salon of the Year winner, and owner of the Katrinas Skin Works salon chain. She has employed many hair and beauty professionals and built this school because she knew exactly what the industry needed, and what most training programs weren't delivering.
The Morayfield campus is purpose-built, approximately 500 square metres, fully air-conditioned, with four large theory classrooms, four fully equipped practical training rooms, and a specialised makeup training room. There's a dining room and kitchen on campus, and free parking on site. You're not studying in a converted office. You're training in a space designed specifically for this work.
You'll use industry-recognised professional products throughout, Circadia, Organic Spa, Saint Minerals, Lish, and Nak. The student clinic is fully operational and open to the public, which means your practical hours are real client appointments supervised by qualified trainers. Not simulations.
Katrinas graduates are known in the industry. Many find employment before they even finish the course.
